Hours of Work: The selected candidate must be available for a minimum of one 7-hour weekday and one 7-hour weekend shift per week within the program's hours of operations, including days and evenings. Assigned shifts will be up to 7 hours in length. Shifts may be assigned to either Onyx or ISSP program needs.

Closing date for Internal Applications: The deadline for internal applications has now passed and we are welcoming applications from external candidates.

We deliver community-based services and specialized supported homes to children, youth, adults and families facing significant challenges in their lives. We continually adapt our programs to suit each individual’s diverse strengths, needs and circumstances. As a result, we have a strong reputation for helping those we serve to overcome the challenges they face and lead fulfilling lives.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver interventions and activities aligned with probation and case management goals.

  • Address safety and immediate needs for Onyx youth across individual, family, school/work, peer, and community domains; provide emotional and practical support.

  • Provide intensive, goal‑oriented support to youth under court orders; monitor compliance; report non‑compliance.

  • Help youth access community resources (education, employment, recreation, and cultural supports).

  • Participate in integrated case management and act as key worker when needed.

  • Assist with Youth Agreement goals (housing, finances, education, stability).

  • Respond to crises, provide on‑call support, maintain accurate documentation.

  • Build strong community partnerships and uphold confidentiality.

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict‑management skills.

  • Ability to teach, collaborate with caregivers, and build trust with reluctant youth, including those experiencing sexual exploitation.

  • Effective team skills, judgement, and behavior‑management abilities.

  • Strong organization, independence, and accountability.

  • Cultural competency and understanding of diverse lived experiences.

  • Knowledge of youth‑service best practices, sexual exploitation issues, risk factors, criminal justice processes, relevant legislation, and case management principles.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.

Note: A full job description will be provided to candidates selected for an interview.

  • Must possess a valid Basic First Aid certificate (formerly OFA Level 1) or be willing to obtain one prior to hire.

  • Must have access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel. This position requires travel in the Sunshine Coast Regional District, and to Vancouver for occasional meetings.
