Overview

Paladin Security is hiring On-Call/Casual Security Guards to protect and support our valued clients across the Hamilton region. As part of our team, you’ll help ensure the safety of hospital staff, patients, and visitors through vigilant patrolling, professional communication, and quick response to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including hallways, parking areas, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
• Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate and observe security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately.
• Access Control: Monitor entry points to ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
• Respond to Emergencies: Act swiftly and appropriately during medical, fire, or security-related incidents.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist patients, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations calmly and effectively.
• Report Writing: Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and incidents.
• Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure adherence to visitor and patient protocols.

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• COVID-19 vaccination (two doses)
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• Valid G Class Driver’s License with the last 3 years of a clean abstract
• Fluent English communication skills (oral and written)
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
• Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants without these certifications may complete Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training prior to onboarding
• Training is unpaid but covered by Paladin, with a 6-month commitment required
