The Onsite Safety Advisor / First Aid Attendant role is about protecting people, preventing incidents, and keeping work moving safely every day.
We’re looking for someone who can stay alert in a dynamic construction environment, confidently address safety concerns, and provide dependable first aid support when it matters most. Strong communication, sound judgement, and a commitment to safe work practices are essential.
We are recruiting an Onsite Safety Advisor / First Aid Attendant for a project in Kitimat, BC to provide on-site support and ensure that the workplace meets or exceeds safety requirements. The successful candidate will be Advanced First Aid certified. Must be local to the area and provide own cell phone and transportation to the worksite.
The length of the project is tentatively 3 months with the possibility of extension, depending on construction progress. The position will be full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional Saturday, flexibility and overtime may be required.
What You’ll Do
Provide first aid services in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements
Monitor site safety and address unsafe acts or conditions
Complete inspections, review hazard assessments, and maintain safety records
Maintain first aid equipment, supplies, and emergency preparedness equipment
Lead toolbox meetings and promote safety awareness
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and first aid events
Conduct site orientations for employees and sub-trades
Communicate with workers, supervisors, and the Safety team
Support compliance, housekeeping, and other site-related duties
Follow all company policies and procedures

Requirements
Advanced First Aid ticket
Previous experience working in construction and familiarity with construction sites
Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation
Available to work Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday
Must be local to the Kitimat, BC area
Expected to provide own mobile device (Laptop will be provided)
Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
Ability to maintain effective work relationships
Outstanding organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Assets
Knowledge of WorkSafeBC, WHMIS 2015 and related legislation
General construction knowledge
