Discover Banff Tours is seeking a proactive and hands-on Operations Assistant Manager to support the smooth running of our tours and transfer services. This role involves assisting in daily operations, overseeing equipment, and supporting the guiding team. You’ll help manage logistics, monitor vehicle compliance, and work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain tour quality. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and ready to handle operational challenges and emergencies in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily operations and step in for the Operations Manager as needed.
- Oversee equipment inventory and tour supplies
- Ensure vehicle compliance (licensing, paperwork).
- Help the Dispatch & Yield Coordinator with guide and resource scheduling for tours and transfers.
- Provide feedback to guides and assist in staff training and development.
- Address operational emergencies.
- Maintain organization and upkeep of the guides' room(s) and detailing bay.
- Hands on overseeing the development of guides and drivers
Experience
- 1+ years of experience in the tourism, operations, or resource management industry.
- Familiarity with guiding, dispatching, or managing a fleet of vehicles is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with scheduling and team management.
- Driving experience with a variety of vehicles a benefit
