Job Description

This is a remote position.

What You'll Do

The Operations Manager will report directly to the CEO and assumes a pivotal role in orchestrating and steering the company's operational functions. This dynamic position entails overseeing daily operations while spearheading strategies to optimize project completion, ensuring efficiency, profitability, safety and exceptional quality and service.

Leadership

  • Lead and mentor department managers to promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and support to field personnel through regular site visits, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with company objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance for all teams in alignment with the company's annual goals, fostering a culture that reflects Thrive's core values.
  • Cultivate a high-performance environment by effectively managing the performance of direct and indirect reports, providing constructive feedback and recognition where necessary.
  • Support ongoing employee development initiatives through coaching, mentoring, and providing resources for growth.
Operations Management
  • Ensure efficient adherence to processes and procedures to meet organizational goals.
  • Establish, monitor, and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all departments.
  • Develop and oversee quality assurance/control programs, including regular project site visits.
  • Lead weekly and quarterly management team meetings.
  • Manage cash-flow, Profit & Loss reporting, and project profitability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance across company departments.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and product/service-related issues.
  • Support recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.
  • Participate in employee review and recognition processes.
  • Drive development and implementation of our business software suite, Zoho.

Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end management of construction projects, ensuring they meet safety, profitability, quality, and sustainability targets.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans, including schedules and budgets.
  • Review and authorize tender package commitments.
  • Oversee mobilization, site readiness, and project start-up meetings.
  • Uphold adherence to the "Thrive Way" Manual for continuous improvement in project delivery.
  • Ensure timely submission of completion reports following Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Manage legal, insurance, and project compliance obligations.
  • Allocate staff resources and oversee project labor effectively.
  • Resource Management
  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate labor, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site activities to ensure seamless project progression and completion,
  • Manage the flow of goods and services, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Source new suppliers that align with Thrive's core values.

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to company direction and strategy, actively propelling the business plan forward.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and expansion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure company objectives are met.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Education:

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Project Management, Construction Technology, Enginnering and/or relevant combination of experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in commercial and/or institutional construction.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role.
  • Finance experience including ability to read and interpret financial documents to provide feedback and direction.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Track record of successful project management of in excess of $1 million.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate an interest in sustainable technologies.

Considered an Asset

  • Red Seal in a construction trade
  • Autocad, REVU, Dialux or similar experience
