POSITION:           Operations Supervisor Northwest Region 
REPORTS TO:      Sr. Manager Motor Coach Operations
DEPARTMENT:    Passenger Services
LOCATION:          Thunder Bay
REFERENCE:       500-195-25
SALARY:              $88,868 - $104,546

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Operations Supervisor Northwest Region is required to provide guidance to motor coach operators and enforce policies, practices and procedures in the application of organizational directives and collective agreements. The incumbent is also required to interact frequently with Department Heads, key customers, agency partners and union reps within the motor coach department. This position will be the main point of contact for Motor Coach Operations between Sault Ste. Marie and Winnipeg. and will be the main point of contact for all service operating on the weekends. 

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Ensures sufficient staff resources, materials and supplies are on hand at all times
•    Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures
•    Adheres to company safety programs in compliance with Legislative requirements, Bus Operators Manual and the Collective Agreement
•    Coordinates coach cycling scheduling with Controllers
•    Issuance of Operational and Safety Bulletins
•    Conduct on-road performance evaluations
•    Responsible to perform random field supervisory safety audits
•    Able to identify service issues and provide solutions
•    Follow Operator Training Program including driver logs, HOS and AODA requirements
•    Investigate customer complaints that involves bus operators and provide a follow up response 
•    Conduct internal investigations as required as per collective agreement
•    Perform Cleanliness Audits of Motor Coaches
•    Provide operational support to agencies
•    Subject to calls after regular working hours
•    Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or General Educational Diploma (GED)
•    3-5 years’ experience in Motor Coach operations
•    Previous experience in a Supervisory capacity
•    Experience working in a unionized environment and dealing with the administration of Collective Agreements
•    Valid Class B or C Driver’s license with Z endorsement
•    Certified trainer of Professional Instructor in Driver Education (PRIDE)
•    Ability to deliver bus operator training program curriculum (MCPCC Accredited)
•    Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
•    Working knowledge of provincial HTA laws, AODA and MTO Hours of Service Regulations 
•    Able to identify service issues and provide solutions
•    Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely using appropriate mediums, listen effectively, demonstrate understanding, and clarify meaning for others
•    Ability to develop, coach, and mentor others
•    Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team, including those holding divergent and/or opposing views and goals
•    Able to understand and apply meaningful operations and safety performance metrics
•    Bilingualism in both official languages will be considered an asset
•    Commitment to Health & Safety
