What you will do

Reporting to the Bridge Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities: 

• assisting with various bridge and culvert maintenance;

• painting;

• jack hammering;

• assisting with construction of formwork;

• installing signs;

• patching bridges (shoveling and raking asphalt);

• installing and repairing guiderails and culverts;

• maintaining buildings and grounds;

• traffic control.

Work environment

• Office location: Moncton or Rexton

• Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours

• May work in adverse road and weather conditions and working from heights

Essential Qualifications: 

• Competition of grade ten (10) and one (1) year related work experience

• Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and/or French is required. Please state your language capability.

• Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

Asset Qualifications: 

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

• experience in the maintenance and construction of bridges

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Operations Worker I: $26.87 per hour, based on a 40-hour week.
