B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Operator – III, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Open Pit, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities 

•    Operate a range of heavy equipment, including but not limited to Excavators (390 and 6015), Dozers (D8/D9), M Series Graders, Rigid Frame Haul Trucks.
•    Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
•    Perform efficient and safe bench set-ups, highwall scaling, loading haul trucks.
•    Perform drill pattern prep and cleanup, manage waste rock dumps, ensuring proper grades and berm height.
•    Maintain roads across site.
•    Keep haul roads, loading areas, and other site access points clear of debris and unwanted items in accordance with site standards.
•    Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation.
•    Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or issues encountered.
•    Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings to promote B2Gold Nunavut’s safety standards and ensure compliance.

Desired Competencies and Requirements 

•    Five (5) plus years’ experience operating heavy equipment in a hard rock open pit mine.
•    Completion of High school diploma or GED.
•    Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $119,886.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $43.50 and overtime rate of $65.25) in a work year.
