The Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture supports a sustainable, safe, and competitive agri-food sector. Working collaboratively with the Department of Health and Wellness and other partners, the department delivers regulatory inspection, compliance, and enforcement programs that protect Nova Scotians and maintain confidence in the province’s agri-food and public health system.
Reporting to the Director of Agri-Food Inspection Services, the Investigator is the subject matter expert in compliance, enforcement, investigations, and prosecutions for several functions across two Departments. The position provides coordination and expert advice to inspectorates within the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Wellness.
The Investigator supports complex investigations, intelligence gathering and analysis, court proceedings, and enforcement decision-making, and contributes to risk-based planning and continuous improvement of regulatory programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the consistent, effective, and legally sound application of provincial legislation related to food safety, public health, and agriculture.

Salary Range: $3,182.69 - $3,698.14 Bi-Weekly
