Full job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Picker (Order Picker, warehouse person) is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are picked accurately and correctly according to the instructions using RF Scan guns in a refrigerated warehouse producing and distributing food.

Other duties such as receiving, loading trucks or inventory counting from time to time as per the business needs.

Main work environment is a refrigerated warehouse, approximately 70% of the time at 1-4C

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures all customer orders are picked accurately and timely to meet scheduled delivery times


• Operates warehouse material handling equipment in a safe manner


• Ensures Food Safe requirements, SOPs and GMP/SQF/HACCP standards and requirements are followed at all times (training provided)


• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Completed High school or equivalent


• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience


• Sit-down counterbalance (class 1)


• Stand-up reach truck (class 2)


• Walkie-Rider powered pallet jack (class 3)

• Able to lift 50 lbs


• Motivated & self-starter


• Able to work independently and in a team environment


• Good English communication skills – both verbal and in writing


• Good mathematical skills

WORKING CONDITION

• Works in a refrigerated environment


• Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week)


• 8.5-hour workday - 15 min (paid) coffee break and 30 min (unpaid meal break) -  Afternoon Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
