Order Picker (Central Kitchen, Richmond, BC)

Company Introduction
T&T Supermarket Inc. was found in 1993 with two stores in BC.  Since then, it has expanded rapidly to become Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 27 stores across the country: 12 in Metro Vancouver, 6 in Alberta, and 9 in Ontario (7 in GTA and 1 in Ottawa, 1 in Waterloo).

The Role:

Reporting to the Receiver (or his/her delegate), the Order Picker is responsible for final boxing and storing products, preparing orders for shipping, as well as issuing invoice to respective departments. This position also ensures the working environment is clean, safe, and equipment is in good status.

Major Responsibilities:

Stock in

• Work in final packaging room, using proper package in receiving and storing incoming products and transporting to designated locations

Stock out

• Pick and assemble products based on assigned order; ensure the correct quantity and types of products are picked and loaded


• Pack products and ensure shipment are accurate and free from damages, transport products to designated delivery areas


• Input relevant data accurately

Inventory Maintain

• Sort and organize products following FIFO, rotate inventory in a timely manner to reduce wastage

• Perform physical count in a weekly/monthly basis, report any potential shortage to management

Work safety/ Food safety

• Comply with company food safety programs and accurately complete all required forms


• Ensure receiving machinery, equipment and working tools are operated properly and well-kept


• Ensure storage areas is organized, clear, unblocked and safe

Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:                               

• Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays


• Be prepared to stand for a long period of time and to deal hands on with products and lifting products of 40 pounds on a regular basis; Able to work in cooler/ freezer environment


• Possess basic computer skills in MS Office


• Possess valid Fork Lift or Pallet Jack license


• Have a good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the job and know how to interpret labels of merchandises


• Able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset


• Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety


• 1 years and/or above relevant experience
