Outside Sales Representative – Automotive Business Development

Richmond Hill, Ontario (Office Location) | Downtown Toronto Sales Territory | Full-Time, Permanent

First-Year OTE: $70,000–$85,000, including base salary, commission and vehicle allowance.

About the Opportunity

Do you have automotive industry experience and enjoy working with dealership owners, service managers and independent repair shops?

We are looking for a motivated, outgoing Outside Sales Representative to introduce BG Products and develop new business throughout Downtown Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the automotive service industry and wants to put that knowledge to work in a field-based sales role.

You will spend your days visiting automotive dealerships and independent repair facilities, introducing products, identifying business opportunities and building relationships with decision-makers.

This is primarily a new business development role. You will be responsible for identifying prospective customers, making in-person introductions, generating leads and converting opportunities into new accounts. This is not a position focused primarily on servicing an established customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and approach automotive dealerships and independent repair shops throughout the territory.


• Make face-to-face introductions and confidently ask to speak with owners, general managers and service managers.


• Introduce BG Products and explain how our automotive maintenance solutions can benefit their business.


• Identify customer needs and opportunities to grow automotive service revenue.


• Present products, answer questions, handle objections and follow up on prospective customers.


• Develop new customer relationships and acquire new accounts.


• Build and manage a pipeline of prospects while consistently pursuing new business.


• Maintain customer relationships and encourage repeat business.


• Plan daily field activities and take ownership of territory sales results.

What We're Looking For

Automotive industry experience is our priority. We are interested in candidates who understand the dealership, automotive service or aftermarket environment.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

• Automotive Service Advisors or Service Consultants.


• Automotive Parts Advisors or Parts Representatives.


• Dealership personnel with customer-facing or business development experience.


• Automotive aftermarket, tire, lubricant or automotive parts sales.


• Automotive service or repair industry professionals with strong communication and customer relationship skills.

In addition, you should have:

• A genuine interest in developing new customer relationships and growing business.


• Confidence approaching dealerships and repair facilities in person.


• Strong communication and presentation skills.


• The ability to identify customer needs, introduce solutions and influence buying decisions.


• Persistence, initiative and a results-oriented approach.


• Previous outside sales or B2B business development experience is an asset, but not essential for candidates with relevant automotive industry experience.


• Must live in Downtown Toronto or within reasonable commuting distance.


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Compensation & Benefits

• First-year OTE of $70,000–$85,000, including base salary, commission and vehicle allowance.
