About the Role


The purpose of the Performance Management Advisor is to support the overall Governance, Risk Management and Assurance activities necessary for LNG Canada to achieve its business objectives.


Reporting to the Reporting and Assurance Lead, this position focuses on development and administration of the LNG Canada Performance Framework and subsequent performance management. 


This role is pivotal in identifying, realizing, and protecting value through performance management and corporate controls.  Acting as a bridge between processes and results, this position identifies opportunities to streamline and stretch the organization to deliver annual improvement targets.


As a trusted business partner across the organization, the Performance Management Advisor fosters strong relationships and cultivates a collaborative, One Team mindset.


With LNG Canada developing the country's first large-scale LNG facility, this position offers a unique opportunity to expedite the pace of LNG Canada in achieving its business objectives toward operational excellence and sustainable growth. 


To succeed with us in the Governance, Risk and Assurance team, we need your enthusiasm to:    



  • Perform in the capacity of a senior businessperson with a demonstrated deep appreciation towards corporate governance, performance and risk management

  • Lead the development and implementation of LNG Canada's Integrated Performance Management Framework.

  • Facilitate quarterly performance review processes and quarterly business reviews with insights to continuous improvements towards medium term business goals.

  • Ensure alignment of performance metrics with Joint Venture Participants, internal and relevant external parties.

  • Support the Leadership Team on strategic initiatives, analysis, and develop action plans to achieve top quartile performance in risk and performance management.

  • Assess the Quarterly and Annual Business Performance Factor, which quantitatively assesses overarching business targets.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills that inspire and energize people and create a clear sense of direction and priorities. In addition to the business acumen necessary to engage with senior business leaders and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

  • Ability to positively influence people, effectively drive work processes and ensure compliance with policies.

  • Be able to communicate comfortably and effectively throughout the LNG Canada organization. This will include messaging broadly to all company levels including Leadership Team.

  • Courage to hold strong to views when challenging current practices to encourage exploration of new ideas that drive improvement to preserve long-term business value.

  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Diversity and Inclusion through collaboration across functional and cultural boundaries. 


To be successful, you will have:



  • Experience with corporate governance including concepts of performance management, control framework, risk management and assurance in support of driving results.

  • 10+ years of relevant Gas/LNG industry experience with demonstrated skills and relevant competencies in performance management & corporate governance.

  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering, Applied Science and/or Business Administration.

  • Accounting designation considered an asset

  • Wider appreciation of Gas/LNG business processes and principles and experience in an independent Gas/LNG/ processing facility or operation is an advantage.

  • Ability to track and report on corporate initiatives while managing inter-cultural sensitivities and leveraging DE&I. Communicate with internal and external interfaces with strong spoken and written communication skills.


This role requires that you: 



  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)

  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Work in Calgary, with support to Kitimat and other locations as necessary.

  • Periodic domestic travel to Kitimat is expected.

LNG Canada is a joint venture comprised of Shell Canada Energy (40%) and affiliates of Petronas (25%) PetroChina (15%), Mitsubishi Corporation (15%) and Korea Gas Corporation (5%). The joint venture is building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.
