Job Description - Permanent Casual Housekeeping / Laundry Aide


  • Maintaining clean, sanitary condition in assigned areas as directed according to established standards.

  • Performing deep cleaning in resident rooms, washrooms, dining rooms and common areas including beds, nightstands, toilets, sinks, floors and other resident room furniture and items

  • Sweep and mop and clean office and nursing station areas including desktop surfaces including telephones, photocopiers, computers, equipment, etc.

  • On feet for majority of shift

  • Pushing, pulling and lifting as required.

  • May have to stand on step ladders to reach high places

  • Subject to reaction from heavy dust or housekeeping disinfectant solutions

  • Exposed regularly to infection when entering resident rooms

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Where required

  • Utilize the 4 moments of hand hygiene as per policy and education
