Key Responsibilities:
- Practice within all federal and provincial regulations, the Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and company policies, demonstrating professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Ensure full compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements, including consent management.
- Provide patient counselling on prescription and non-prescription medications, including indications, contraindications, adverse effects, interactions, and proper usage.
- Deliver professional and expanded-scope services, such as medication reviews, injections, and other clinical offerings, within your capabilities.
- Verify the accuracy, therapeutic appropriateness, and safety of all prescriptions dispensed.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals within the circle of care to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by law and policy (e.g., patient records, narcotic logs, controlled substances).
- Promote health and wellness, and participate in community outreach activities such as clinics and educational events, if any.
- Provide timely, professional, and compassionate customer service to patients and healthcare partners.
- Assist in the preparation, storage, and handling of inventory, including specialized products such as vaccines and biologics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Owner.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
- Experience with Kroll/Telus Pharmacy Software (preferred).
- Prior community pharmacy experience (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively in a team.
- Proficient with pharmacy systems and computer applications.
- Fluent in English (French is an asset).
