Job Description - Philanthropy Coordinator



  • Help young Australians to improve their long-term educational outcomes

  • Located in Sydney National Office, NSW or Melbourne, VIC

  • Temporary full time position until January 2027


 


 


The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures. 


 


 


About the role


 


We are seeking a Philanthropy Coordinator to support a team of Trust and Foundation Fundraisers to drive revenue growth. Reporting to the National Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, you will:


 



  • Assist with the preparation of reports and submissions;

  • Deepen our relationships with the mid value philanthropic partners;

  • Support the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects.


 


 


About you


 


As well as passion for the community, you will bring the following:


 



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Interpersonal skills and an ability to develop mutually beneficial, professional relationships

  • Strong analytical and time management skills  

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups

  • Ability to understand financial documents such as audited financial statements and program budgets
