Reporting directly to the General Foreman, the Picker Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a 1-ton picker truck to support utility, construction, and site abandonment activities at various client locations. This role involves hoisting and transporting materials, conducting equipment and rigging inspections, completing required safety documentation, and ensuring compliance with all company and site-specific safety procedures.
The incumbent will work in physically demanding outdoor environments, adapt to changing job scopes, and maintain a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational efficiency.
The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of Lynco, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a 1-ton Picker Truck to hoist customer commodities as required.
Ensure correct equipment/rigging is chosen for the job; use guidance from Supervisor when required.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment & Rigging, including Certifications for the rigging.
Perform and complete tasks for Safety Management i.e., Field Level Risk Assessments, Inspections, etc.
Adhere to daily schedules set out by Dispatch.
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including timesheet submission and field ticket.
Maintain a clean and organized truck; and,
Other relatable duties as required.
Qualifications
Grade twelve (12) Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalency is required.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence, along with a clean five-year driver’s abstract is required.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment Alcohol & Drug test.
Criminal Record Check may be required.
Minimum of three (3) years operating a 1-ton picker truck is required.
Minimum three (3) years of site abandonment experience is required.
Ability to pull trailers, operate a skid steer and mini excavator is required.
Must have the following safety tickets: H2S Alive, TDG and WHIMIS.
Must be familiar with and comfortable using E-logs.
Familiar with equipment inspections and pre trip inspections.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in utility/construction environments.
Ability to work overtime.
Team Player, Safety orientated and production driven.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work.
