The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position
The Pipefitter is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team, reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. This hands-on position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems at the WLNG Squamish site. All work must be performed in strict compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will:
Prior to start-up of the plant, support the development of maintenance procedures
Participate in plant walkdowns covering mechanical and piping scopes
During Commissioning of the plant, review leak testing work packs and support the execution of field activities
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications
Measure and calculate pipe lengths, angles, and other specifications accurately
Diagnose and resolve issues in piping systems, including leaks and pressure problems
Support lifting and rigging piping and heavy materials
Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems
Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using various tools and equipment
Blinding equipment to support repairs of systems
Work closely with welders and Millwrights to complete installations
Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure system integrity
Perform equipment and system troubleshooting and maintenance
Adhere to all site safety procedures, policies, and regulations
Complete daily reports and maintain proper documentation
Redline Drawings
Redline line procedures
Provide feedback on job plans to optimize tasks
Remove & repair various types of valves
Reporting of all accidents, near misses and hazardous conditions
HSSE
100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines
Champion HSE as a member of the LNG Maintenance Team
Timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and plant
Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behavior in the plant
Understanding of standard hand signals and communication protocols used when working with cranes and other lifting equipment
Requirements
Required Experience:
British Columbia Journeyman Pipefitter Certification or Red Seal Journeyman
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a dual ticket (Pipefitter/Millwright or Pipefitter/Welder
5-7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry such as LNG, Refining & upgrading
Experience with measuring and calculating pipe lengths, angles, and other specifications
Knowledge of various rigging methods and techniques for lifting and moving heavy materials safely
Ability to calculate loads and determine the appropriate rigging equipment and techniques for each task
Experience with piping troubleshooting and resolving piping system leaks
Are willing to comply with WLNG's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
Additional Requirements:
Rigging tickets considered an asset
Ability to Support planned, unplanned Maintenance
Ability to support Turnarounds
Ability to work weekend and extended hours as required
Ability to work in physically demanding environments
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset
Communication/interpersonal skills – Ability to respectfully interacting with coworkers through to management
Accepts responsibility and demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of tasks
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
The position is based on site in Squamish, BC (Project Site)
