Pipefitters [Journeyman or Apprentice Level]

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Journeyman Pipefitters to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lays out, assembles, fabricates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems


• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements


• Selects type and size of pipe required


• Measures, cuts, and threads pipe to required dimensions using hand and power tools


• Tack, welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system


• Installs supports, valves, piping, and control systems


• Tests system for leaks using testing equipment


• Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems


• Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems


• Coaches, mentors, assists, and evaluates apprentices through the employee performance management process to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.


• Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.


• 1-2 years of directly related work experience.


• As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.


• This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
