Job Description - Pipeline Control Centre Operator

In this role, you will work side-by-side with some of the most hardworking peers in the energy industry and will be accountable for all pipeline operations, procedures, and emergency response for the console of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two years of field operations

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • A valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or higher

  • Demonstrated adherence to all environmental health and safety practices, policies, standards, and regulations

  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Responsibilities:

  • Follow and adjust pipeline rates and pump selections according to the schedule and work activity reports

  • Provide advice and feedback into operational constraints and opportunities while following company policies

  • Exhibit excellent troubleshooting skills along with sound decision making

  • Work collaboratively with shift crew, support staff and external stakeholders

  • Make operational changes on pipeline systems while maintaining good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and following good operational discipline

  • Respond to emergency conditions and alarms on Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to protect personnel, environment, and the equipment

  • Review and provide input into operating procedure revisions as well as operational manual revisions

  • Generate SAP work request notifications for nuisance alarms or failed equipment

  • Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Pipeline Office in Sherwood Park, located at 241 Kaska Road

  • You will work 12-hour rotating 28 day / night shift rotation which includes weekends and the potential for overtime to support the Control Centre

  • This position is safety sensitive
