Job Description - Planning and Reliability AME (Person Responsible for Engine Reliability Program)

Company Description

Kenn Borek Air (KBA) is a diversified worldwide aircraft charter and leasing operation. Kenn Borek Air is currently seeking an individual to join the Planning and Reliability Department as the Maintenance Planning Coordinator. This full-time position is based in Calgary, AB working Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. 

Job Description

The Maintenance Planning Coordinator is responsible for strategic maintenance planning, scheduling, forecasting and assisting in coordinating all maintenance on the KBA aircraft fleet to ensure regulatory/manufacturer compliance, contract requirements, efficient use of manpower and to provide operational readiness. This position will work closely with production line and production heavy managers in scheduling and creating work packages to support daily flight operations and heavy maintenance to deliver a clear achievable maintenance schedule. Provide weekly updates to management and flight operation on maintenance schedules and timelines.

Major Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Plan and coordinate with Production Heavy and Line Managers to schedule maintenance events including routine inspections, AD’s and SB’s, paint, modifications, and component replacements, which will include;
    • Providing weekly status reports of upcoming maintenance,
    • Assist with work packages to line engineers for assigned aircraft,
    • Plan and create aircraft work packages for heavy maintenance.
  • Ensure maintenance plans are executable by reviewing maintenance schedules/plan with department managers and flight operations department.
  • Provide Hangar/facilities schedules and revision/updates on Excel/GANTT charts and for distribution to required department managers.
  • Prepare forecasting or next due reports for airframe, engines and major components.
  • Manage calibrated tools by:
    • Monitor next due calibration tool forecast reports,
    • Ensuring adequate supply of calibrated tools at each base,
    • Maintain, update and revise the calibrated tooling system. 
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and Production Line Manager to develop line maintenance plans that align with flight schedules, base operations, operational disruptions, and manpower constraints.
  • Monitor maintenance progress status, related delays and identify risks to management.
  • Responsible for fleet airworthiness of scheduled maintenance, conformity, standardization, reliability, and maintaining high operational performance.
  • Review and analyze completed maintenance packages for on time performance, inefficiencies, downtime drivers and provide recommendations to optimize heavy maintenance turn times. 
  • Support audits, inspections, and reliability programs with planning data and reports to identify and improve maintenance efficiency, downtime reduction, and planning accuracy.
  • Assist the Production Department with;
    • Ensuring required parts, tooling, and technical data are available prior to starting maintenance
    • Opening & closing of task cards for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
    • Updating and replacing aircraft scheduling charts as changes occur, ensuring revised schedules are distributed at the production level.
  • Liaison with stores/procurement as requested by production control for material updates relative to expected ship/arrival dates to meet manpower & scheduling demands.
  • If required, assist Technical Records Department.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the PRM or Maintenance Manager

Qualifications

  • Preferably have Maintenance Engineers license for 5 years
  • Previous planning experience
  • Experience in an airline and or MRO aircraft planning and records environment or equivalent working within company records and planning systems. 
  • Experience with aircraft related software programs, Microsoft or similar word and spreadsheet applications and scanning/imaging products.
