Trim Landscaping is a full-service landscaping company that provides commercial and large-scale high-end residential landscaping services in Nova Scotia. We are continually growing and are looking to add a Planting Crew Leader to our team in Bedford! We have completed many of the premier landscape projects in Nova Scotia including Argyle Street and Spring Garden Road, Queen’s Marque and Peggy Cove’s Viewing Deck. • Instruct employees in proper work methods and standards; monitor crew work quality; ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices,


• Safety – Wear appropriate PPE for the job, report accidents and near misses, lead daily tailgate talks and bi weekly toolbox talks


• Supervise the planting crew and coordinate daily site activities
  


• Train and mentor crew members in proper planting and plant care practices


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


• Install trees, shrubs, and perennials according to landscape plans


• Ensure proper planting depth, soil preparation, and backfilling techniques


• Stake trees and install plant supports when required


• Apply mulch and soil amendments as needed


• Ensure plant placement and spacing meet design specifications
  


• Inspect plant material for quality and health prior to installation
  


• Ensure proper handling of plant material to prevent damage


• Identify pests, mold, and other plant diseases


• Ensure newly installed plants receive proper watering and care
  


• Perform minor pruning and maintenance when required


• Promote long-term plant health through proper installation practices
  


• Layout planting beds and plant locations according to design plans


• Submit daily timesheets with notes, pictures, correct times & correct jobsite task

Job Requirements:

• High school graduation required; associate's degree preferred.


• 3-5 years experience in landscape planting or horticulture


• 1-2 years supervisory experience


• Strong plant identification and plant care knowledge
  


• Ability to read and interpret landscape design plans


• Equipment operating experience (mini-excavators and skid steers)


• Strong communication and organizational skills


• Valid driver’s license
