Position Title - Fabricator

Job Description

Plastic products fabricators, finishers and inspectors assemble, finish, and inspect plastic parts and finished products.

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Operate machines or equipment, or use hand tools to cut, shape, splice, and fit plastic materials to form parts and assemblies.


• Assemble composite materials on patterns to form parts and assemblies using bonding agents.


• Operate finishing equipment to trim, grind, or buff plastic products into final form.


• Inspect manufactured plastic products for defects and conformance to specifications and quality standards, visually or using instruments.


• Job duties as assigned.

Recommended Education & Experience

• High School diploma preferred


• Secondary school education is an asset


• Experience as a laborer


• Experience with carpentry an asset


• On-the-job training is provided

• Office 365 – MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

Job Hazards: Katch Kan supplies and enforces the usage of all necessary PPE and safety training required for the role. 

• Daily commuting to and from work.


• Regular lifting, twisting, bending.


• Ergonomics related to working at a station.


• Live warehouse environment with racking and equipment that requires regular inspection.


• Exposure to hazards associated with operating and maintaining machinery and equipment, such as moving parts, pinch points, and electrical hazards.


• Exposure to high noise levels and vibrations generated by machinery and equipment.


• Potential exposure to chemicals and materials used in the manufacturing process, which may pose risks such as chemical burns, respiratory issues, or fire hazards.
