Positions Available:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualities: Strong math skills, financially responsible, experienced with budgeting, proficient in Excel, tech-savvy, and organized.
Responsibilities:
Manage all financial transactions and maintain accurate records
Prepare budgets and track expenditures for council initiatives
Provide regular financial updates to the team
Ensure responsible and transparent financial planning
Time Commitment: 2–3 hours/week
Qualities: Extremely organized, skilled note-taker, readily available, and a reliable team collaborator.
Responsibilities:
Manage all administrative tasks for the council
Take and distribute meeting minutes to ensure transparency and record-keeping
Handle all council correspondence and communication
Maintain accurate records and documents of council activities and decisions
Support the council with organizational tasks and scheduling
Time Commitment: 1–2 hours/week
Qualities: Outgoing, well-spoken, confident, takes initiative, and comfortable with public speaking.
Responsibilities:
Represent the needs and perspectives of your year to the council
Promote events and initiatives within your year group
Encourage engagement and participation among peers
Assist in planning and running events as needed
Time Commitment: 2–3 hours/week
Qualities: Organized, creative, takes charge, works well with others, easygoing.
Director Role:
Oversee all event planning and execution
Set the yearly event calendar and manage logistics
Lead and delegate tasks to the events team
Ensure all events align with council goals and run smoothly
Coordinator Role:
Support the Director with event execution
Coordinate volunteers and event logistics
Assist with preparation, setup, and day-of responsibilities
Help with brainstorming and implementing new event ideas
Time Commitment: 4–6 hours/week
Qualities: Highly creative, tech-savvy (expert in Canva), organized, collaborative, insightful.
Director Role:
Develop and lead the media and marketing strategy
Maintain brand consistency across all platforms
Supervise the design, scheduling, and execution of all posts
Coordinator Role:
Design visual content and assist with post scheduling
Support social media engagement and content creation
Assist in analyzing engagement data and improving campaigns
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours/week
Qualities: Strong researcher, tactical thinker, outgoing, strong communicator/outreach, proficient with LinkedIn and career tools.
Director Role (Political Studies Alumni and Career Mentor Director):
Develop and manage a robust alumni network
Organize career development events, workshops, and panels
Facilitate mentorship programs between alumni and students
Coordinate with external professionals and resources
Maintain alumni relationships to enhance networking
Coordinator Role (Political Studies Alumni and Career Mentor Coordinator):
Support Directors in engaging alumni
Help coordinate mentorship activities and events
Maintain alumni and mentor databases
Provide up-to-date career resources and student support
Collect feedback to improve future programming
Time Commitment: 3–4 hours/week
Qualities: Outgoing, patient, kind, intelligent, organized, strong team player.
Director Role:
Lead the mentorship program strategy
Recruit mentors and pair them with mentees
Evaluate the success of the mentorship initiatives
Oversee the planning of related events
Coordinator Role:
Support activities between mentor-mentee pairs
Communicate program updates and reminders
Help plan and execute mentorship events and socials
Time Commitment: 3–4 hours/week
Qualities: Organized, creative, empathetic, and collaborative.
Responsibilities:
Develop EDII initiatives and advocate for inclusive programming
Collaborate with all teams to ensure events and posts are inclusive
Support EDII-specific events and campaigns
Help create educational content and resources
Assist with community outreach and initiative implementation
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours/week
