Pouch: Packer

Winpak Division is seeking a Packer to join the Pouch department based out of Winnipeg on the 8-hour rotating shift. In this role you will safely and efficiently inspect and pack pouches according to established standards for product quality and outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and pack pouches/rolls in a safe and efficient manner.


• Maintain product quality according to established standards and achieve maximum kilogram/hour output.


• Assist the Operator by monitoring quality and production speeds and report any deviation from the standards to the Operator.


• Lift and handle rolls and boxes for finished goods which may weigh 20-50 pounds (maximum lift of 50 lbs/22.5 kg).


• Ensure the quality and quantity of bags placed in each box.


• Ensure that the necessary paperwork such as production reports and line reports are complete and accurate.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience clearly communicating with team members both verbal and written. 


• Experience with repetitive counting and sorting items. 


• Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving hand movements (not limited to assembly, packaging, and quality inspection).


• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts as required including days, nights, and afternoons.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.5 kg). 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ months of experience in manufacturing and/or production environment. 


• 6 + months of experience in a packer or picker role. 

Additional Information:

The Pouch: Packer position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor. 

8-Hour shift rotation(example):

Week 1 - Monday to Friday 7:00 - 3:00 (days)

Week 2 - Monday to Friday 23:00 - 7:00 (nights)

Week 3 - Monday to Friday 3:00 - 23:00 (afternoons)

Week 4 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
