Job Description - Practice Specialist, Emerging & High Growth (EHG)

Reporting to the Director, EHG, the Practice Specialist provides group support to Osler’s Emerging & High Growth Companies Group in Vancouver, and its clients, with respect to the development of new business, research and practice management.

Major Responsibilities 



  • Assists with organization & directs the day to day operations of the EHG Vancouver Practice.

  • Direct/first point of new client and business intake for the EHG Vancouver Practice.

  • Assists with allocation and work flow of new clients.

  • Directs & engages staff members with incoming work.

  • Provides record management & other administrative services for the EHG Vancouver Practice.

  • Assists with client and prospect research and market intelligence projects.

  • Works alongside the local client and business development teams, as well as the Director, EHG Practice to assist with Business Development responsibilities for the EHG Vancouver practice as well EHG Vancouver supported sponsorships.

  • Ad-hoc duties as need to ensure smooth running of EHG practice.

  • Assists with execution on external partnerships and sponsorships.

  • Works closely with other departments throughout the firm, such as, marketing, client development, business development & market recognition teams.

  • Assists with the planning and organization of internal and external events.

  • Assists with cross department referral requests.

  • Proactive in implementing practice processes.

  • Assists with practice innovation and initiatives.


Position Requirements 


Education and Experience 


This position requires a University or college diploma (preferably in business or paralegal studies) plus a minimum of one to two years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.


Knowledge and Skills



  • Proactive, highly organized, detail orientated and ability to manage a high volume of tasks

  • Discretion and a strong client service orientation are essential

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail

  • Disciplined execution and follow through; excellent time management skills are essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships

  • A team player who also works well independently

  • Strong ability to learn existing business practices

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be a self-starter and be highly motivated to handle a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office


Compensation


The range of expected compensation for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.


We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
