At BHP, we believe our purpose goes beyond mining: we work to improve lives and create a more sustainable future. We are a global resources company with operations in more than 90 locations worldwide.
In Canada, our presence is growing with the development of one of the most significant potash projects in the world; Jansen. This project reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and economic growth.
Imagine being part of something truly world‑class—something that’s shaping the future of sustainable agriculture and responsible resource development. That’s what the Jansen Potash Project offers.
Located about 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jansen is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable potash mines on the planet. With a CAD $14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment, it marks the biggest private investment in Saskatchewan’s history, and a bold step forward for BHP in Canada.
More than a mine, Jansen represents a long-term opportunity to build something meaningful. During construction, it will create around 5,500 jobs and, once operational, 900 permanent roles. If you’re seeking a role where you can contribute to a legacy project and help shape the future of potash mining, Jansen could be the place where it all begins.
At BHP, we are transforming the way mining is done. We embrace innovation, sustainability, and inclusion to build a smarter, safer, and more human future.
We are proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2025, a testament to our dedication to fostering a positive, diverse, and rewarding work environment. At BHP, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, integrity, performance, and collaboration.
As the Principal Mine Planning – Enabling Infrastructure, you will be a critical technical leader supporting the design, assurance, and optimization of foundational underground infrastructure essential to Jansen’s development, construction, and production ramp‑up.
You will act as a key connection point between Resource Engineering and execution teams—ensuring alignment, governance, and technical rigor across all engineering deliverables. A major part of this role involves managing third‑party engineering firms, supporting ventilation basis-of-design recommendations, and ensuring all work meets BHP’s expectations for quality, safety, and compliance.
