Print Estimator

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Estimator is responsible for maintaining a proper balance between the profitability of the company and the achievement of total customer satisfaction. The Estimator works with Customer Service Representatives and other team members to prepare cost estimates for all of the company business. The Estimator must understand the customer requirements and the cost of meeting those requirements within the company capabilities.

As the Estimator, you are a primary internal representative of our organization. You must convey to the customer a sense of expertise in our printing services and capabilities, and you serve as a key educator to our community and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quote Preparation: Analyze client requirements and prepare detailed and accurate estimates for custom printing and packaging projects.
  
  


• Technical Assessment: Evaluate specifications, production methods, materials, and lead times to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
  
  


• Collaboration: Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure accurate cost estimations and seamless project execution.
  
  


• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement in estimating workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

• Data Management: Maintain and update pricing databases, material costs, and vendor information.
  
  


• Client Support: Provide consultative guidance to sales and account managers, ensuring client expectations align with production capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years in an estimating role within the printing or packaging industry.

• Strong understanding of commercial printing processes, materials, equipment, and finishing techniques

• Strong understanding of signage and packaging printing processes, materials, equipment, and finishing techniques is a strong asset

• Ability to analyze complex specifications and develop accurate cost estimates.

• High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of estimating.
  
  


• Experience with estimating software and tools (e.g., Pace, PrintSmith, Avanti, or similar)
  
  


• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  
  


• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple quotes and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
