Standard BioTools is looking for a highly-motivated Imaging Product Development Scientist to join our exciting mass cytometry team based in Markham, ON. This individual will be a critical contributor to proteomics reagent development and applications projects as an expert in imaging mass cytometry. 

Description:

  • Develop an extensive and advanced understanding of the imaging mass cytometry platform.

  • Work within cross-functional teams to develop and test new and existing reagent products.

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments using the imaging mass cytometry platform for reagent product development.

  • Generate imaging mass cytometry data and analysis that may be used for marketing and/or training purposes.

  • Lead or contribute to the creation of technical and/or application materials (user manuals, application notes, white papers, technical notes, and presentations).

  • Maintain records to ensure a laboratory environment that complies with regulatory requirements (eg. ISO 13485), good laboratory practices, and standard operating procedures.

  • Work cross functionally to create and maintain records and work instructions for the transfer of products into manufacturing.

  • Perform data analysis, prepare technical plans and reports and present at technical reviews, in accordance with design control principles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in life sciences.

  • Hands on experience and expertise in pathology, microscopy, immunoassay and tissue staining techniques. Flow, suspension mass cytometry and/or imaging mass cytometry experience is an asset.

  • Experience in image segmentation and single cell analysis. Expertise in this area is required. Bioinformatics knowledge and/or experience is desirable.

  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting tissue staining and applications related to microscopy.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical reports, technical procedures, validation protocols and reports, operating instructions, and scientific publications.

  • Familiarity with Design Control, ISO13485 and/or regulatory environment; this experience is an asset.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to enable multi-tasking.

  • Strong technical writing ability.

  • Attention to detail is essential.

  • Independent thinker with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Collaborative attitude within and outside own discipline.

  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

  • Ability to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada.
