This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager - Data Platform based in Canada.
This role sits at the heart of a large-scale data ecosystem, shaping how data is discovered, understood, governed, and used across a complex technical environment. You will define and evolve the strategy for data catalogue, metadata, and data lineage capabilities that empower engineers, analysts, data scientists, and ML practitioners. The work directly impacts how efficiently teams can build, trust, and scale data-driven products. You will operate in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment alongside engineering, design, and data teams. The role combines product strategy, technical depth, and platform thinking to solve problems at enterprise scale. You will also help define how AI and automation reshape data discoverability and governance. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence the foundations of modern data infrastructure.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the product vision for a critical data platform domain, ensuring it enables reliable, scalable, and intuitive data usage across the organization.
- Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for data catalogue, metadata, and data lineage capabilities.
- Identify, prioritize, and solve high-impact problems across data discovery, governance, trust, and usability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, analytics, and data science teams to deliver robust platform solutions.
- Establish and track key success metrics, including adoption, performance, and business impact.
- Evaluate build vs. buy vs. integration decisions for platform capabilities and external tools.
- Align stakeholders across technical and business teams to ensure clarity of direction and priorities.
- Contribute to the evolution of data infrastructure in the context of AI-driven development and automation.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate combines strong product thinking with technical fluency and a deep understanding of data-driven environments.
- 2+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in platform, data infrastructure, developer tools, or analytics products.
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
- Ability to engage deeply with engineering teams and contribute to technical discussions.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to connect user needs, platform architecture, and business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
- Empathy for data users and understanding of challenges in data access, trust, and governance.
- Curiosity about AI/ML trends and their impact on data platforms and workflows.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on alignment, trust-building, and execution momentum.
