Job Description - Production Assistant

Come join the Mercury Filmworks team in an exciting position as a key player on a new production. This in-studio role is available immediately and will give someone great working experience alongside a dynamic creative team within a 2D animation pipeline.



The Production Assistant (PA) supports the Production Management department by providing day-to-day administrative and project support to the production team. This includes, but is not limited to, note-taking, scheduling and preparing meetings, and providing assistance during meetings. The PA also helps track artist assignment progress, monitors workflow advancement, reports departmental statuses to the Production Coordinator, and flags issues as needed.


Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):



  • Ingest deliveries and track receipt of incoming assets

  • Assist with script breakdowns and creation of production asset lists

  • Track, confirm, and organize asset materials

  • Help manage and maintain asset statuses within production management software such as ShotGrid

  • Provide administrative support to Line Producers and the Production Manager

  • Maintain and organize production files and directories

  • Prepare meeting agendas and materials for production management

  • Attend production meetings, take detailed notes, and distribute meeting summaries

  • Manage and distribute weekly meeting schedules

  • Assist the Production Coordinator with interdepartmental communication and summarize updates for management

  • Maintain and update production trackers as directed by the production team

  • Ensure departments have required materials to meet milestones; follow up with upstream departments for dependencies

  • Report daily delays or concerns to the Production Coordinator and department leads


Skills & Qualifications:



  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a professional environment; a Bachelor's degree in Film/TV Production, Animation, or equivalent experience is preferred

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and/or Keynote

  • Genuine interest in Animation Production Management and a solid understanding of the animation pipeline

  • Experience tracking projects using spreadsheets or database tools (e.g., ShotGrid)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent comprehension and interpersonal abilities
