Based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Preciseley Microtechnology Corporation (“PMC” or the “Corporation”) is one of the leading independent providers of optical MEMS solutions globally. Founded in 2006 and operating out of the NRC Nanotechnology Research Centre, PMC is a fabless designer and supplier of a range of MEMS micro-mirror products, including mirror devices used for laser beam steering, switching, and manipulation, with diverse application across optical systems, telecommunications, sensors and other fields.  

Job Description

We are searching for a person with diverse skills to work as part of a small, dynamic team to support our growing production deliveries. This position will include responsibilities such as quality inspections, report writing, data entry, shipping and receiving, production planning, inventory management and customer service. The successful candidate will be highly organized, with an acute attention to details, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude. Problem-solving skills and good judgement are a must, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

Key Job Functions

• Plan and schedule weekly deliveries to customers 


• Coordinate staff to meet scheduled deliveries


• Receive purchases deliver purchases to inventory or purchaser


• Monitor and receive finished goods and consumable supplies


• Maintain inventory and sales databases 


• Generate new production support documentation for received goods


• Manage bi-annual inventory process; perform monthly virtual inventory 


• Ensure staff training is up-to-date and maintain training records 


• Prepare orders by picking and vacuum seal material 


• Package outgoing shipments, preparing shipping documents and relevant follow-up communication 


• Support sales by issuing sales orders, quotations and handling customer enquiries 

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word


• Self-driven and strong work ethic; can work well within a team


• Excellent attention to detail 


• Ability to operate with minimal supervision 


• Proven ability to work in meet tight deadlines and think logically to solve problems 


• Experience with shipping and receiving functions


• Familiar with basic incoterms (International Commercial Terms) and export documents 


• Mandarin fluency is a strong asset. 


• Experience with a microscope and handling small, delicate parts with tweezers is an asset 


• The ability to work overtime as necessary 

Education & Experience

• College level education, science-related diploma or production-related certificate.


• Bachelor’s degree is an asset


• 1–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or a related role preferred


• Some laboratories or cleanroom experience is an asset

Compensation & Schedule

• Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year (based on experience)


• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible start/end times available)

Work Remotely

• On-site role (no remote work available)
