Job Description - Production Manager

Sandvik is seeking a

Production Manager

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Sandvik is a global leader in underground mining equipment manufacturing. Our Winnipeg ITH (In-the-Hole) Center of Excellence serves as the global hub for the design, manufacturing, and lifecycle support of our underground ITH drills and support units.

We are currently seeking a Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Winnipeg facility. This role is accountable for delivering safe, high-quality production while meeting operational targets for efficiency, cost, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand and delivery commitments
  • Monitor inventory and collaborate closely with procurement to ensure material availability

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing production team
  • Set clear performance expectations and drive accountability through structured objectives (OKRs/KPIs)

Operational Excellence & Quality

  • Continuously improve production processes to optimize efficiency and throughput
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and drive a culture of operational excellence

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage production budgets and identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve overall performance

Health, Safety & Sustainability

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Lead by example—safety is non-negotiable

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly environments
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and high-performance work environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with Sandvik equipment is an asset
