Fresh Start Foods is currently hiring a full time Production Manager who is eager to work in a fast paced team oriented work environment in our Calgary, AB location.
The Production Manager manages the company’s resources to improve productivity and minimize downtime while increasing profits and reducing costs. Duties include meeting goals, creating workflow policies and procedures, creating schedules, and encouraging staff to put their best foot forward at all times so that the entire operation functions efficiently.
Position: Permanent, Full-Time.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours.
Salary: Between $65,000-$85,000 per year, plus performance bonus
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements policies and procedures for various production activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of materials, and maintaining a current inventory.
Performs inspections of the physical condition of production equipment. Prepares work orders for repairs or requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Collaborates with department heads to coordinate operational activities with other functions, including production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
A manager must follow and maintain all Quality Assurance, HACCP, SQF requirements, and Occupational Health and safety regulations and ensure all employees in their department follow them.
Completed all required training (e.g., Leadership, Equipment, and Operational), ensured employees’ adherence to company practices and procedures, and applied corrective action when needed.
Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring (e.g., Probationary, Annual Evaluation, and Performance Objectives) of staff, initiates follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.
Mentors motivate and develop staff and act as their role models and resources.
Develops the department's capital and operational budget. Routinely monitors, manages, and controls the budget, analyzes variances, takes appropriate action, and develops plans for productivity improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High School / Equivalent required.
Must have experience working in food manufacturing industry.
Excellent attention to detail and strong motivation toward company, team, and individual results.
Ability to work effectively with others and build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.
Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Must have good time management and organizational skills.
Must multitask, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, email, and internet software applications.
