Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Planner, the Production Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of the production lines including raw materials and packaging materials.

  • Generate a production schedule considering sales demand, inventory policies, operational efficiencies, maintenance, development/engineering projects and planned downtime.
  • Interface and facilitate information flow between Site Operation, Logistics, Corporate Capacity Planning, and Product development to ensure planned requirements are actionable.
  • Monitor production activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed to meet predictive requirements. Adjust work orders as needed.
  • Adjust schedules to accommodate backlogs, design changes and material or labor shortages.
  • Release printed packaging and raw materials per plan.
  • Analyze manufacturing and product change results to update performance standards.
  • Coordinate trial and specification exception requirements to verify material/resource availability.
  • Generate reports and data as required (manufacturing accounting, item cross reference, etc.)
  • Identify issues and work with Quality Assurance, Customer Service and Sales departments to prepare resolution plans for overstocked, held and aging inventory or other issues that impact an optimal production plan. 
  • Coordinate the production workflow for multiple lines.  
  • Plan and prioritize operations for optimal service, performance, and cost.  


Qualifications
  • College diploma or university degree in business/supply chain management or related technical field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in similar job, or other suitable combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Keen understanding of planning and operations processes.
  • Organized, adaptable team player with ability to work with a variety of departments such as operations, maintenance, warehouse, sales, customer service etc. to accomplish objectives.
  • Advanced understanding and familiarity with MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain a professional approach.
