Role:
The Poultry Production Worker is responsible for processing, packaging, inspecting, and handling poultry products in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to food safety, quality, animal welfare, and workplace safety standards while meeting production targets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned tasks on the production line safely and efficiently.
- Process, trim, cut, debone, package, and inspect poultry products.
- Ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory specifications.
- Maintain production speed while following quality standards.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and CFIA requirements.
- Keep workstations clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
- Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve production goals.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
- Assist in other production areas as required.
Requirements:
- Previous food processing or manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Poultry processing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a cold environment (0–10°C).
- Comfortable handling raw poultry products.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Working Conditions
- Poultry processing facility.
- Cold and wet environment.
- Exposure to raw poultry products and food production equipment.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Shift work, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
