About the Role

The Program Coordinator – Trades Ready Training (TRT) is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, administration, and delivery of the program. This role ensures smooth program operations by coordinating participant services, managing logistics, and supporting communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Working closely with program staff, employers, facilitators, and community partners, the Program Coordinator supports participant recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and overall program flow. The role contributes to successful participant outcomes through strong coordination, collaboration, and culturally responsive service delivery.

Hybrid in this role refers to a combination of on-site service delivery and community-based work (e.g., employer visits, workshops, outreach, and client meetings). This is not a work-from-home position. Remote work occurs only occasionally, based on program needs.

About the TRT Program

Trades Ready Training (TRT) supports newcomers and equity-seeking individuals in preparing for entry into skilled trades pathways. The program focuses on building foundational skills, workplace readiness, and industry awareness while connecting participants to training, certifications, and employment opportunities.

TRT integrates hands-on learning, classroom instruction, and coordinated supports to help participants navigate pathways into trades careers with confidence.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate day-to-day program operations, schedules, and logistics to support effective program delivery.


• Support planning and implementation of workshops, orientations, training sessions, and program events.


• Monitor participant recruitment, intake, onboarding, attendance, and overall engagement.


• Serve as a primary point of contact for participants, providing ongoing support and responding to inquiries.


• Collaborate with Career Practitioners, facilitators, and Employment Placement Specialists to support participant progress and outcomes.


• Build and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners.


• Coordinate stakeholder communication and support employer engagement and outreach activities.


• Maintain accurate participant records, documentation, and program files in alignment with funder requirements.


• Support reporting, data tracking, and preparation of program statistics and funder deliverables.


• Contribute to program evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

We recognize that skills and experience are developed through a combination of education, experience, and practical application.

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Business Administration, Human Services, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


• 2–4 years of experience in program coordination, preferably within employment services, non-profit organizations, or community-based programs.


• Experience working with newcomers, immigrants, refugees, or diverse populations.


• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.


• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams) and digital platforms.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check (required as a condition of employment).

Preferred / Asset Qualifications

• Experience working with government-funded programs and reporting requirements.


• Knowledge of the skilled trades sector and workforce development programs.


• Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered approaches.


• Experience coordinating workshops, training sessions, or community events.


• Ability to speak a second language in addition to English.


• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
