Position: Program Manager, 50/50, Events & Fundraising

Department: Canucks for Kids Fund

Reports to: Senior Manager, Canucks for Kids Fund Events, 50/50

The Canucks for Kids Fund dedicates resources to assist charities which support children's heath and wellness, foster the development of grassroots hockey, and facilitate and encourage education in British Columbia. Thanks to the generosity of our fans, donors, players, employees and sponsor partners, the Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF) has granted $94.5 million to charities in British Columbia over the last 38 years.

Funds raised support CFKF charitable recipients, including the Canucks Autism Network, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Canucks Family Education Center.

Position Summary

As a part of the Canucks for Kids Fund team, the Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the Canucks for Kids Fund 50/50 program as well as other CFKF events & initiatives to raise important funds for the children and families we support throughout the province. The 50/50 team manages approximately 170 in-person and online raffles per year.

This Role Will Focus On

  • Overseeing the overall administration of the 50/50 program, including recruitment and supervision of staff and volunteers during gaming and other events, including Dice & Ice Gala, Jake Milford Golf Tournament, etc.
  • Operating the 50/50 program in compliance within GPEB rules and regulations
  • Administering volunteer database, email, and voicemail accounts, including ongoing correspondence with current and prospective volunteers, purchaser inquiries, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Creating volunteer event documents, assigning selling locations, and conducting event briefings for volunteers and staff
  • Reviewing volunteer discrepancies, performance issues, game night operations, and updating staff and volunteer operations manuals and training documents
  • Liaising with raffle service provider to troubleshoot any issues with electronic systems and equipment and arranging for repairs, service, and updates for all program equipment
  • Working during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule to support the CFKF 50/50 program and events
  • Supporting the 50/50 program for the AHL Abbotsford Canucks at Abbotsford Center as needed
  • Overseeing the Trevor Linden Scholarship program

You Have

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in supporting fundraising events, volunteer coordination, and logistics
  • Ability to obtain registration as a GPEB licensed gaming worker
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Motivated by a high-volume workload in a busy supervisory and administrative role, while continuously finding efficient ways to perform tasks
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and work effectively in a team, and foster relationships with individuals, groups, and volunteers
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to uphold our company values of discipline, respect, excellent, attitude, and mindset (DREAM)
  • Onsite role at our office in downtown Vancouver

You Might Also Have

  • Working knowledge of volunteer databases, event registration software or other fundraising-specific databases
  • Intermediate to advanced experience working in Excel and Better Impact Volunteer management database program
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
