Job Description - Program Support Worker, Awake Overnight

As an Awake Overnight Program Support Worker, you provide a safe and dignified environment for women navigating the complexities of poverty, mental health, and addictions. This role exists to ensure 24/7 continuity of care, providing a steady presence for residents. Working from a trauma-informed lens, you deliver basic needs, emotional support and maintain the overnight program operations. Your impact is found in the trust you build and the stability you maintain, ensuring every woman feels secure and respected. Reporting to the Program Manager, you bridge the gap between evening and morning services, ensuring that residents feel seen, heard and supported 24/7.

We are currently hiring for a Saturday & Sunday overnight position.

  • Continually monitors the milieu for potential safety hazards or shifts in the environment that could trigger clients, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks

  • Maintain precise, objective, and confidential shift logs, and client case notes, ensuring all interactions are documented in alignment with organizational standards and privacy legislation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work independently and make sound, safe decisions during high-stress or emergency situations

  • A foundational understanding of how trauma impacts behavior and a commitment to interacting with clients in a way that avoids re-traumatization

  • A non-judgmental, empathetic attitude that prioritizes the self-determination and respect of every woman in the program

  • A high degree of personal responsibility and punctuality, recognizing that the safety of the program depends on a consistent staff presence
