Programmer (Steel Processing Machines)

About the Position:

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Programmer will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Generate programming for Trumpf and Messer Laser Machines ensuring that optimal use of material is being used


• Completing data entry into internal software


• Communicating to all team members on shop floor in order to ensure efficient and accurate tracking of material


• Plans inventory by checking stock and ensure correct amount is available for production


• Complete orders for material as needed


• Complete paperwork for work orders which are ready to be shipped


• Assistance on the production floor, as needed


• Other tasks such as filing, as needed

Work Location:

• Hamilton ON.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in a programming role


• Experience in the steel construction industry


• Knowledge of programming software


• Ability to read and understand Engineering, Structural drawings


• Knowledge of the Production Life Cycle


• Organization skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities


• A team player; one who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment


• Strong Communication Skills


• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Compensation Package:

• Wage: $23.00-$30.00/Hour
