Project Engineer Mill Construction (West Africa)

The CompanyGlobe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in West Africa is working together to source an experienced and qualified French-speaking Project Engineer to join their team.The RoleThe incumbent will support the Project Manager and be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of engineering aspects of the mill construction project. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all engineering activities meet the required standards and are completed on schedule. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the project team, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.The ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed engineering plans and specifications for the construction of the mill.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Work with the Project Manager to coordinate all engineering activties, ensuring they align with the overall project schedule.Work with the Project Manager to coordinate all engineering activities, ensuring they align with the overall project schedule.Provide technical support and guidance to the project team and contractors.Troubleshoot and resolve engineering-related issues as they arise.Monitor and inspect engineering work to ensure it meets quality standards.Implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.Promote and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.Prepare and submit regular reports on engineering activities, including progress updates and technical assessments.Assist in managing project costs and ensure engineering activities stay within budget.The RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the mining or construction industry, with a focus on large-scale projects.Must have a project background in mining, ideally involving mills or plants.Prior expat experience in developing countriesFluent in French and English, both written and spokenStrong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex engineering problems.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse teamThe RewardsThe position offers a competitive remuneration package.
