Position Overview

Under the general direction of the CEO, the Project Manager will apply the key functions of effective project management to provide leadership to support patient flow at SBH.  From process improvement to developing procedures and metrics all with the aim of improving patient flow...  Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the SBH.


Explores technologies to facilitate the work in a transparent manner.



  1. Creates and maintains the project workplan and proactively manages issues, changes to scope, , etc. to ensure project objectives are achieved.

  2. Provides essential support during the implementation of the project.

  3. Prepares and distributes monthly project status reports.

  4. Coordinates project team meetings and ensures appropriate documentation is maintained to capture project progress and potential challenges.

  5. Identifies potential risks and determines appropriate mitigation strategies to resolve and/or escalate to the SBH Executive Team as required.

  6. Assumes accountability for overall functioning of assigned project(s).

Experience


  • Three to five years’ experience in planning and implementing projects essential.

  • Experience in program development, introduction of new systems, technologies and change management strategies essential.

  • Proven track record of producing results within time and budget constraints essential.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment is an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • University degree in a related field.

  • Previous training in project management.

  • Project Management Professional Certification an asset.

  • Project management principles, practices and techniques.

  • Regional policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.

  • Roles and responsibilities of project team members and change management strategies.

  • Leads project teams.

  • Performs both independently and as a team member.

  • Delegates appropriately.

  • Prioritizes workload.

  • Responds to simultaneous demands.

  • Plans, manages, and implements change.

  • Influences others to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Problem solves, organizes results and monitors project progress.

  • Demonstrates effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrates interpersonal, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio).

Physical Requirements


  • May be required to work extended hours.
