Job summary
Oversee and manage environmental projects, ensuring they are on time and on budget. Lead and mentor teams, prioritize safety, and maintain client relationships. Specialize in contaminated site investigations and restorations, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with our different expertiseâs as needed.
Responsabilities:
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, finances, and ensure technical accuracy.
Team Leadership: Guide the different project teams, mentor juniors, and emphasize safety.
Client Relations: Build and maintain client relationships, identify potential clients.
Expertise: Specialize in contaminated site investigations and restorations.
Documentation: Analyze findings and draft technical documents and proposals.
Compliance: Ensure projects meet all regulations.
Safety: Prioritize and promote team safety.
Collaboration: Coordinate across various expertises.
Additional Tasks: Handle any other duties for project success and client satisfaction.
Profile :
Education: To hold a university degree in civil and/or geology engineering or natural and/or earth sciences.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in environmental consulting, with a focus on contaminated site assessment and remediation.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, including: Groundwater monitoring and sampling Soil sample collection and logging Remedial actions like excavations Emergency spill response Quality assurance and control protocols
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of both provincial and federal environmental regulations, with emphasis on the City of Ottawa and Ontario's guidelines.
Contaminants: Knowledge of common contaminants; experience with PFAS is a bonus.
Site Characterization: Ability to analyze and interpret data from site investigations to determine contaminants and their concentrations.
Sampling Expertise: Define the need for sampling, determine best practices, and assess the reliability of the results.
Data Interpretation: Evaluate data to spot trends, changes, or signs of environmental stress.
Report Preparation: Draft comprehensive site assessment reports that detail potential risks and necessary actions.
Communication: Capable of conveying findings to stakeholders, including property owners, regulators, and the public.
Driver license: hold a valid driver licence.
