Job Description - Project/Study Manager - PL#99414

Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Project / Study Manager to join our team.

At Peter Lucas we offer a variety of work, professional development, and learning opportunities that come from working on diverse projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.

We are seeking an experienced Project / Study Manager with a strong background in mining capital projects to support a major water management infrastructure project. This role is focused on feasibility-stage engineering, CAPEX development, and project readiness, with the potential to advance the project into execution.

This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work primarily from home or our office, with occasional trips to the mine site during the feasibility and study phases. During construction, site presence will increase to ensure smooth execution and close collaboration with operations and contractors. LOA will be provided for the working days required for remote on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate external engineering consultants through the feasibility study (FS) phase.
  • Support development of Class 3 CAPEX estimates and project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with technical and operational requirements.
  • Prepare internal tollgate and project funding documentation for management approval.
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet project objectives, quality standards, and operational requirements.
  • Provide strong project leadership throughout the study phase and transition into construction execution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and report progress to the Senior Program Manager.
  • Increase site engagement during construction to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain alignment with project goals.

Required:

  • Strong background in mining capital projects.
  • Experience working at feasibility study (FS) or study phase level.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering consultants.
  • Experience developing CAPEX estimates and project schedules.
  • Strong technical, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with water management or mine infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting internal project approvals and tollgate processes.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility considered an asset.
  • Health and Dental Benefits.
  • Company Pension Matching.

We appreciate all applicants' interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Wages are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Global reference checks may be conducted after the interview process.
