Property Accountant

Homes by Avi Group of Companies is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and professional individual to join our team as a Property Accountant in our Blue Jean Condominium and Property Management division. Property Accountant

You will work directly under the leadership of a Controller and Broker to support our Blue Jean Condominium Management division. The Property Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting of our condo boards under management including accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations as well as producing monthly financial statements for the condo boards and assist with operating budgets, and responding to board inquiries about financial statements and audits.

• You are an articulate communicator in both your written and verbal correspondence, equally professional and detailed.  

What You Will Do:

• Be responsible for full cycle accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliation for our condo boards;


• Produce monthly financial statements including notes for our condo boards, meeting external deadlines;


• Entry operating budgets;


• Work with Property Management Team to reconcile receivables and payables;


• Assist in supporting external auditor requests, creating and maintain working paper files for audit purposes;


• Ensure all monthly financial and management reporting required for management, is delivered accurately and on a timely basis;


• Prepare supplementary reporting;


• Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications – Must Have’s

• 3 + years of property accountant experience.


• Experience with Yardi Voyager software.


• Post-Secondary education in accounting or business.


• Accuracy with a balance of speed while working in accounting.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, understanding that it is better sometimes to make a phone call vs. emailing when working to resolve challenges.


• Not be scared of Tech and using systems to enhance processing speed and accuracy.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.


• Self-motivated, organized and willing to help others or ask for assistance when needed.
