Property Maintenance Trades Worker III Permanent Position Facilities Management Department Competition No. C1009-26 TWIII (E)
As a member of the Facilities Management Department, this position may be responsible for the following:
Supervises and participates in the modification of existing structures or installation of new structures, equipment or systems, repair and maintenance of building systems, fixtures and equipment which includes reviewing the work of lower level journeyperson trades workers on a daily basis for completeness and technical competency.
Take a lead hand role in operation and maintenance activities involving other semi-skilled or unskilled workers;
Establishes and co-ordinates work schedules with others when planning and completing projects.
Perform duties at the journey person level in the alteration, repair, maintenance, and construction of NLC property and buildings;
Complete preventative maintenance tasks on architectural, mechanical and electrical equipment and systems;
Read and interpret blueprints or sketches to the standard used in the construction industry;
Provide estimates of time and material required for assigned tasks and projects; maintain routine records and order supplies as required;
Perform other related duties as may be required.
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Graduation from High School;
Completion of a trade program from a college or institution with a journeyperson certificate in the electrical trade.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of facilities.
Condition of Employment:
Travel to stores and other facilities throughout the Avalon Region will be required in the performance of duties. Travel to Central NL or West Coast NL may be required.
