PROPERTY MAINTENANCE & GROUNDSKEEPER

About the Role

Mylen Custom Kitchens is seeking a dependable and motivated Property Maintenance & Groundskeeper to support the cleanliness, maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of our buildings and surrounding properties.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, organized, and well-functioning work environments both indoors and outdoors. The successful candidate will work closely with the Facility & Equipment Maintenance Supervisor while supporting the overall needs of the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain cleanliness throughout office buildings, showroom spaces, lunchrooms, washrooms, and common areas


• Manage garbage and recycling collection and disposal


• Perform outdoor property maintenance including:
  
  
  
  • Lawn care
  
  
  • Snow removal and salting
  
  
  • Sidewalk and parking lot upkeep
  
  
  • Front entrance and employee outdoor areas
  
  
  
  


• Inspect buildings, equipment, appliances, and property for functionality and repair needs


• Complete general maintenance tasks including:
  
  
  
  • Replacing light bulbs
  
  
  • Furnace filter changes
  
  
  • Minor repairs and leak repairs
  
  
  • Basic building upkeep
  
  
  
  


• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of:
  
  
  
  • Eyewash stations
  
  
  • First aid kits and stations
  
  
  • General safety and maintenance items
  
  
  
  


• Identify health and safety concerns and assist with corrective actions


• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition


• Assist with additional maintenance projects and facility-related tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

• Strong work ethic and reliability


• Valid driver’s licence, valid automobile insurance, and access to a reliable personal vehicle required. Successful candidate must be comfortable using their personal vehicle for occasional work-related duties, with mileage reimbursement provided by the Company.


• Mechanical aptitude and general maintenance knowledge


• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively


• Comfortable performing both indoor and outdoor work year-round


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Team-oriented attitude with willingness to assist where needed

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum one (1) year experience in janitorial, groundskeeping, or maintenance-related work preferred


• Valid driver’s licence, valid automobile insurance, and access to a reliable personal vehicle used for work purposes required.


• Mechanical knowledge and experience considered an asset


• Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general handyman skills considered an asset


• Knowledge of safe operation of hand and power tools


• Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing


• Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


• Effective verbal communication skills


• CSA-approved steel-toed safety footwear required within production areas


• Reliable daily transportation required.  Personal vehicle
