Job Description - Property Manager (AFN Enterprises)

About the Role:


AFN Enterprises (GP) Limited, the general partner of AFN Enterprises Limited Partnership (“AFN Enterprises”), the business arm of the ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation (“AFN”), is seeking a proactive and organized Certified Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and tenant relations for our residential and/or commercial properties. The Property Manager will ensure properties are well maintained, financially sound, and compliant with relevant legislation, while providing excellent service to tenants and stakeholders. This position reports to the General Manager of AFN Enterprises.



This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Invermere, BC and the salary range is $60,000 - $70,000.



Key Responsibilities:


Property Operations & Maintenance



  • Oversee daily operations of assigned properties

  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and inspections

  • Work with contractors and service providers to ensure timely and quality work

  • Conduct regular property walkthroughs and ensure health and safety standards are met


Tenant Relations



  • Serve as the main point of contact for tenants

  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests promptly

  • Handle lease agreements, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs

  • Address tenant issues professionally and fairly


Financial Management



  • Collect rent and monitor arrears

  • Prepare budgets and track property expenses

  • Review invoices and approve payments as required

  • Provide regular financial and operational reports


Compliance & Administration



  • Ensure properties comply with provincial/federal regulations and housing standards

  • Maintain accurate tenant records and property documentation

  • Enforce lease terms and policies when necessary



Qualifications & Experience:



  • 2+ years of experience in property management, facilities management, or a related field (preferred)

  • Knowledge of residential tenancy legislation and property maintenance standards

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • Ability to handle conflict professionally and diplomatically

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or property management software

  • Valid driver’s license



Assets (Nice to Have):



  • Property management certification or coursework

  • Experience working with community-based organizations or Indigenous communities

  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting
