Job Description: Reporting to a Public Health Inspector Supervisor, the Public Health Inspector is responsible for a comprehensive environmental health program in the community. Using a variety of professional and technical skills the public health inspector protects individual and community wellness through health promotion activities and enforcement of provincial acts and regulations as well as bylaws. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (BSEH)

Licenses

• Certificate in Public Health Inspector (Canada) (CPHI(C))

Knowledge and Abilities

• Provide training/info. for residential, recreation, commercial premises


• Ability to facilitate reduction of communicable diseases and health hazards


• Ability to investigate complaints to ensure compliance with legislation


• Ability to facilitate community development and encourages a healthy environment


• Ability to performs tech.assessments, provides consultative/educational services

• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.
