Join the QRET Admin Team and Lead us to New Heights!

The Queen’s Rocket Engineering Team (QRET) is a passionate group of undergraduate students dedicated to designing, building, testing, and launching rockets up to 10,000 ft for international and national competitions. Beyond launching rockets, we strive to provide every member with opportunities to learn, develop industry-transferable skills, and collaborate on an incredible cross-disciplinary project.

We are hiring four new positions to round out our admin team for the upcoming year. These roles are open to students from all faculties and cover creative and technical projects from several fields. Whether your expertise lies in manufacturing, computer science, or graphic design, your leadership can help propel QRET to greater success. Please find the open role descriptions down below.

Outreach Lead

Lead QRET’s outreach initiatives and help us expand to new heights! Work with the logistics team to coordinate community and educational outreach opportunities, from high school projects to sponsor events and QRET appearances at conferences. This position is great for someone who is passionate about science education and has an entrepreneurial mindset.

Payload Outreach Lead

Lead our outreach payload development while working with our payload sub-team leads to educate the community on the world of rocketry by working with community members to create an in-rocket science experiment! There is also an opportunity to work with our Research sub-team lead across their project development this year. An outreach payload idea is not required to apply, but we’d be happy to hear any ideas you may have. No rocketry or QRET experience required, open to all fields of study.

Marketing Lead (Graphics-focus)

As marketing lead, you will advertise team activities while growing QRET’s network and designing engaging promotional materials. We are looking for someone with graphics experience to help us produce team merchandise and elevate our brand image. If you’re passionate about graphic design, or are looking for an exciting creative outlet, this is the perfect role for you!

Research Co-Lead

Work with the current research lead to develop a paper or poster for both national and international conferences. Review the team’s methodology, perform the projects procedures and lead the writing of status reports. The role will focus on outreach to local schools and designing and integrating the testing apparatus. No rocketry or QRET experience required, open to all fields of study.
